"Complex" Migrane

Is there anyone here that has been diagnosised with Complex migrane?
or a simular sub-set of the "Migrane Disorders"?

I have had frequent painful migranes since my teenage years. Must
worse in the past few years. In the past few months, I have noticed
periods of hours to days that I have problems with dizzyness, memory
loss, forgetfullness, etc.. basically all the symptoms of a TIA,
including slowed speech, etc., sometimes I will have a bad week where
I am barely able to do anything all week, and I am just in bed, and
some times, I will have a good week, and just have a couple migranes,
without all the other weird symptoms.

My doctor thinks that we are possibly dealing with complex migrane. A
CAT with and without contrast did not show any problems.

I have about 2 weeks left untill I see the neurologist, I am wondering
if anyone can relate to this, or share there experiances with me.

My migraines have got slightly better over the last few years in terms of
the pain. But the confusion associated with it has got worse...most of the
things you describe as well as one side numbness and tingling.

I went to see Crash last week, and got a migraine in the middle of it.
Couldn't drive home so just stayed and watched the movie but it just made no
sense to me whatsoever, even after the aura went. Kind of strange.

Never been diagnosed with anything other than "classic" migraine, but then I
don't bother the doctors with them anymore.

A nice dark cool room is the best place to be when you have migraine.
I can't drive when I have aura, and I probably shouldn't drive once the
headache hits, but I have on occasions.

The movie Crash is probably not what it sounds like if you've never seen it.

I have been lurking here for awhile now.

I have to say that if I was in a theater during an aura I would stay
rather than attempt to drive. I get multiple auras during a migraine
and each episode of aura makes the pain more intense. If I move too
quickly after an aura I will just get another one with more pain to
follow. I would remain in the theater (but probably not looking at
the screen!) for about an hour after the aura hit until it stopped and
settled down a bit.

You're right. Interesting though how some people's auras can come and go
and others progress...such as one that takes away your sight. I worked with
a guy who had that kind. In some cases I'd be afreaid I might never get out
of the theater...the smell might make me throw up as well. I'm usually not
alone in a theater...I go with someone, so that's probably good :-)

I have had migranes so bad that i didnt think i should drive to the
er, but i forced myself, and damn i was freaking sorry every time.. i
was in so much pain, they have to haukl me into the er from the door..

Jamie you have to remember that each person is different and how one person
may deal with with something another person may deal with it an intirely
different
way. Also migraines tend to change some. At times I can go out in the sun
and
be alright while other times the sun will trigger a migraine. Certain
smells can
trigger one while other times nada... I love the smell of green apples and
it is one
of the smells quite soothing to migraine ppl. When you have the confusion
you have
to limit yourself. I wouldnt think of getting in my truck and driving
putting *someone
else* in danger. Mood swings are very common in migraine ppl. I have
learned over
the years just to keep my mouth shut and not to say something nasty just
because
I dont feel good. Helps not to post things too when not feeling just right
too *-)

How do you manage to deal with the pain and confusuon that they bring,

Most of my migraines only last about 4 hours nowadays, from the onset of the
aura to the pain to the sickness. The confusion thing maybe lasts for half
an hour to an hour while I have the headache.

I get far fewer migraines than I did when I was a teenager and they last
less long, so I generally just put up with them when they come.
